Hotel Job Vacancies 2
The tourism and hospitality industry in the Republic of Ireland employs between 150,000 and 250,000 employees across all areas, earning over €6 billion for the Irish economy. The sector has rebounded strongly from the economic downturn and is one of the country’s most diverse and vibrant areas of employment, though competition remains strong for skilled positions.
The UK based holiday resort company Centre Parcs is opening a €233 million resort, employing 1,000 people, in County Longford in 2019. This coupled with Ireland winning Europe’s Leading Tourist Attraction for the last year years in a row at the World Travel Awards (Spike Island in Cork, 2017, Titanic Belfast, 2016, Guinness Storehouse, 2015) mean that additional hotel job vacancies have been released into the market.
The Restaurant Association of Ireland notes a national shortage of skilled chefs and tourism bodies report that more than 5,000 new hotel rooms are needed by 2020 to satisfy demand.
Hence there are various hotel jobs available, many of these involve serving as support staff, dealing with customers face-to-face in a variety of ways, but there are also administrative jobs that include positions in sales, marketing, and accounting. Food services jobs also abound in the hospitality industry.
